Mobb Deep - Shook Ones Part II

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while, given it’s one of the most renowned hip-hop songs of all time. Shook Ones Pt. II possesses a rigidly organic and raw quality that immediately draws you in and doesn’t let go. The menacing instrumental, produced by Havoc, has been used by countless artists for freestyle releases, my favorite actually being B.o.B’s The Biz. The accapella has also been regularly sampled and quoted ever since it was released as the lead single for their 1995 album The Infamous, which is one of my favorite albums of the 90’s, especially from the East Coast. It’s truly a timeless classic.

"The Mobb comes equipped for warfare beware, of my crime family who got nuff shots to share. For all of those, who wanna profile and pose. Rock you in your face, stab your brain with your nose bone."
